NORTHWEST NATIVE CHAMBER (NWNC) HOMEOWNER INTAKE QUESTIONNAIRE

The Northwest Native Chamber (NWNC) and the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) have joined together in a powerful partnership to bring energy-efficient home retrofits to Native homeowners. Rooted in a shared commitment to climate justice and community resilience, this collaborative program addresses the disproportionate effects of climate change on frontline communities—including communities of color and low-income households.

Together, NWNC and NAYA are advancing clean energy solutions in Native communities by combining home retrofit services with investments in Native-owned contracting businesses. This dual-impact approach not only improves household energy efficiency but also strengthens local economies by creating opportunities for Native contractors.

At the heart of this partnership is NWNC’s Clean Energy Contractor Development Program, which channels funding from the Portland Clean Energy Fund directly into Native communities. By supporting both Native homeowners and Native-owned businesses, the program promotes the recirculation of wealth and long-term sustainability within Native communities.

Through this deep collaboration, NWNC and NAYA are ensuring that Native families are equipped to thrive in a changing climate—benefiting from both climate resilience and expanded economic opportunity. NAYA’s integral role amplifies the program’s reach and impact, helping to empower and uplift Native communities across the region.
